🌈 Rainbow Rainbow 🎨 Modular Slinky Snake 🐍

JeremyShaferOrigami
[Simple] This is a traditional origami Modular Snake model which I call Rainbow Rainbow, because, well, I like rainbows and because when you spread it apart it makes an upside down rainbow, just like all the rainbows down under in Australia! All you need is square paper, and the more sheets you use the longer the slinky snake will be! I say this is a traditional model because that's what Heather of Happy Puppy Truffles Origami Channel said it was in her 2013 Modular Snake tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDMNoYxC2bs , but if some origami historian out there knows who actually created this amazing model, please let me know and I will give due credit and belatedly ask permission (if they're still alive). Besides Heather's tutorial, several other YouTube channels have taught this model, but in the videos I've seen it is folded very small and not so much in rainbow colors. When you fold it from large paper it really shrinks and expands well and I find it more strikingly beautiful visually, especially if you use rainbow colors but of course I'm a little biased toward colorful things. This simple-to-fold amazing expandable model makes for a fun fidget toy, but it can also be a nice addition to your box of diy decorations. You can deploy it and hang it from a wall, ceiling or tree as a garland, fringe or bunting. It can decorate your room for your 2020 Zoom party. It can be shaped into a heart, candy cane or letters C, D, G, J, L, O, S, U, V or Z. I didn't show this, but you can attach the two ends together to form a wreath, fidget toy or choker necklace. You could even give it a half turn so you have a fidget Mobius Strip! If you fold it small it could be used as a bracelet or if you fold it super small I guess it could even be worn as a ring! As I showed at the end, a nice way to open it is to gently squeeze the pointy end and as you extend the snake out from the other end, gradually release the squeezing hand. That way you can open it gracefully, controlling how fast the model extends. You can rather easily open it sequentially from one end to the other even if you rotate the squeezing hand upside down as I did in the intro.
