Why Scott Presler Is Cleaning Up America’s Most Dangerous and Dirty Cities

Cristina matei
The NTD Report caught up with cleanup activist Scott Presler at CPAC 2020. Back in August 2019, Presler shot to Twitter stardom when he decided to pick up trash in Baltimore after President Trump shined a light on the city’s problems. Since then, Presler and legions of volunteers haven't stopped cleaning up America’s dirtiest and most dangerous cities. “I think it's unconscionable that in our country—one of the greatest freest countries, richest countries—we have 500,000 half a million homeless Americans,” says Presler. Presler, who started out as a dog-walker, says one of the biggest things his cleanups have demonstrated is the American can-do attitude, and what can happen when normal citizens come together to help their own communities, without relying on the government.
