CHAIRMAN PRESSES FBI ABOUT BIDEN LAPTOP

Cristina matei
The head of the Senate Homeland Security Committee is demanding answers about the Hunter Biden laptop. He wrote a letter to the FBI director over the weekend. Senate Homeland Security Chairman Ron Johnson wants to know if the FBI has verified details about Hunter Biden’s alleged laptop. He said a whistleblower contacted his committee in late September. The whistleblower said the laptop was left at his business – and he turned it over to the FBI. Johnson said his staff immediately contacted the FBI. They asked the agency if it could confirm or deny details to validate the claim. But he says the FBI wouldn’t confirm or deny any of the information. Johnson wrote in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, “I have a responsibility to validate and verify the contents of any information produced to my committee. The committee must know if it receives information that could be fraudulent or not accurate.” He said it could be foreign election interference. Or the whistleblower could be providing false information. Johnson said, for these reasons, he needs to know. Emails on the laptop purportedly show the Biden family’s business ties abroad – including Ukraine. Biden’s campaign has disputed some of the allegations. The campaign spokesman said Biden was carrying out official U.S. policy toward Ukraine – and didn’t do anything wrong. Johnson wants the FBI to answer by Thursday.
