A Chinese truck driver commits suicide after getting a $300 ticket. Now, social media users are outraged over authorities’ indifference toward workers’ struggles. And the UK is pledging tens of millions of dollars to help people relocate there from Hong Kong. The action offers refuge to those fleeing the city, amid Beijing’s draconian national security law.
