In Watamu Kenya there is loads of VERY EXPENSIVE resorts but it is also possible to find a few place just like the Lawford's Hotel where you will have a very good return on your money. So if you are looking at visiting the Kenyan Coast on a budget by staying away from those USD$500/night hotels and resorts, this hotel is a very good option.
