The Warriors of Wudang Mountain - Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra

The Warriors of Wudang Mountain Composed by D.F Conducted by Milen Nachev The Warriors of Wudang Mountain depicts the secret world of an ancient Taoist training ground. Sounds of birds greet the visitor as he catches a glimpse of Taoist warriors in training. A variety of vigorous rhythms as well as smooth flowing lines suggest both the dynamic and well-honed qualities of their movements. Through the balance of structured staccato rhythms in the strings with the undercurrent of legato countermelodies in the brass and winds, and vice versa, one can also sense the duality of yin and yang, seemingly opposing but complementary forces that are a key element of Taoist philosophy. The observer finds that behind the gentle (yin) exterior of their movements lies great power (yang). ----------------- This is an all-original composition of Chinese music performed by a classical symphony orchestra. Chinese instruments and those of Western classical music blend beautifully together in this audience favorite from Shen Yun's world tour. The performance was recorded at Boston Symphony Hall, 2014. ----------------- THE ORIGINS OF CHINESE MUSIC can be dated back to distant antiquity. Ancient Chinese instruments share a deep connection with Heaven and Earth. The delicate notes of the plucked pipa evoke a sense of celestial realms. The enchanting sound of the 4,000-year-old erhu mimics the human voice. Leading the melody amidst a full Western orchestra, they create a profound musical experience that resonates deep in the heart. ------------------ For more about Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra: https://discover.shenyun.com/2017-symphony ► Subscribe to Shen Yun: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_z8ERuOLTrlAaopY0gxzsA?sub_confirmation=1
