State Lawmakers, Activists Start 5-Day Hunger Strike Outside White House for Permanent Ceasefire in Gaza

More than a dozen U.S. state lawmakers and activists—including actress Cynthia Nixon—started a 5-day hunger strike outside the White House in Washington on Monday, calling for a permanent cease-fire in Gaza. As many as 6 of the participants committed to avoiding food for five days, while the rest will fast for less than five days, according to Time.
