Speaker Johnson, 60 GOP Lawmakers Visiting Border; House to Begin Mayorkas Impeachment Proceedings

House Speaker Mike Johnson and 60 Republican lawmakers are traveling to Eagle Pass, Texas. They will meet with state and local officials to discuss their experience on the ground and what they see as failures of the Biden Administration to enforce border policy. House Republicans are forging ahead with steps to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. Mayorkas says the U.S. immigration system is in desperate need of legislative reform. Suburbs in Chicago are implementing policies to restrict buses dropping off illegal immigrants unannounced. Bus operators will have to get their arrival approved or face thousands of dollars of fines.
