Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) took to his chamber's floor to announce he will be stepping down as leader of the Senate Republicans. The 82-year-old legislator confirmed he will continue to serve his current term as Senator "albeit from a different seat" after the election of his replacement in November.
