Schumer Wants New Elections in Israel, Calls Netanyahu an 'Obstacle to Peace'

NTD News
NTD News
Speaking on the Senate floor Thursday, Democratic Senate leader Charles Schumer asserted Israel have a new election as a result of his disagreement with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's leadership during the Israel-Hamas War. Claiming Netanyahu “lost his way” Schumer branded Netanyahu as an obstacle to peace in the region as Israel fights against Hamas forces in Gaza. Schumer is the first Jewish majority leader in the Senate and the highest-ranking Jewish official in the U.S. The high-level warning comes as an increasing number of Democrats have pushed back against Israel and as President Joe Biden has stepped up public criticism of Netanyahu's government amid the conflict, which has resulted in what has been called a humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
