Israeli officials are investigating an airstrike that reportedly killed 45 people in the city of Rafah. This came as Hamas terrorists claimed responsibility for launching rockets at Tel Aviv. In Papua New Guinea, more than 2,000 people are feared buried alive by a massive landslide. Treacherous terrain and the remote location made search and rescue efforts more difficult. At least 20 people were killed when powerful storms and tornadoes tore through Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas over the weekend. A heightened tornado watch—impacting over 4 million people—was in effect for parts of Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee. Citizens and veterans from across the country gathered to honor fallen service members on Memorial Day. Washington held one of the nation's largest Memorial Day parades.
