The Supreme Court issued a unanimous decision in former President Donald Trump's Colorado ballot case. The justices wrote that he should remain on the ballot, and that states do not have the power to remove candidates using Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. Allen Weisselberg, former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, surrendered to the Manhattan prosecutor’s office and pleaded guilty to perjury. He was sentenced to five months in jail. Prosecutors said he lied under oath during questioning in Trump’s civil fraud trial. Court filings show that Pentagon leak suspect Jack Teixeira will plead guilty to all six counts of wilful retention and transmission of national defense information. He will agree to a 16-year prison sentence. The State Department is calling on Americans to leave Haiti as soon as possible. Violence has escalated in the country, after armed groups helped break thousands of inmates out of Haiti's largest prison. Haiti's government issued a state of emergency. A United Nations envoy said there are "reasonable grounds" to believe Hamas committed sexual violence in the Oct. 7 attacks against Israel. Talks are currently underway in Egypt for a temporary ceasefire and hostage deal in the war.
