NTD Evening News (Aug. 16): Fulton County DA Asks for March 4 Trial in Trump Case; Biden to Visit Hawaii After Deadly Wildfires

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on Aug. 16 requested a March 4, 2024 trial date, the day before a dozen states may hold their primaries, for former President Donald Trump and 18 other co-conspirators in the Georgia general elections case. She plans to try all 19 defendants together. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) marked the one-year anniversary of the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act with a promise to "push back" against the Biden administration's efforts to "implement ... a radical climate change agenda" through the legislation, which Mr. Manchin helped author. President Joe Biden said he will travel to Maui soon to visit the devastation left behind by wildfires that ravaged the Hawaiian island last week. Gov. Josh Green announced the confirmed death toll had risen from 99 to 101 in an afternoon video address.
