Born to a large musical family, Rob gave his first solo recital at 10 years old, performed in the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on the Disney Channel with the Disney Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, and founded a piano trio that performed actively throughout his teenage years. Rob has won first prize at numerous music competitions and has soloed with the Utah Symphony, Utah Valley Symphony, San Diego Chamber Orchestra, BYU Philharmonic, and BYU Chamber Orchestra. As a first violinist of the BYU Chamber Orchestra, Rob performed in more than twenty cities throughout central and southern Europe, and as concertmaster of the orchestra, gave a concert to a sold-out audience in New York’s Carnegie Hall. Rob was awarded full scholarships to attend Brigham Young University and Rice University where he earned a Bachelor’s in Music and Master’s in Music, respectively. While studying at Rice, Rob began covering rock and pop music, and upon returning to Salt Lake City after graduation, began playing with a looper pedal which he uses to create intricate and stunning arrangements of today and yesterday’s most popular music Rob recently won the award for "Best Instrumental" at the Utah Music Awards for his rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah". CHRISTOPHER JANWONG McKIGGAN piano playing has been called as “masterful, highly contrasted and sharply characterized” (GRAMOPHONE magazine) and he has been hailed as a pianist "[with] astounding technique… startling poise and control" (KANSAS CITY STAR), "[with] astonishing virtuosity and piano coloration" (The CITIZEN), “proving to be Colossus, converting every piece into a virtuoso composition” (The MANILA TIMES) and been called the best hope for a global music of the future (FANFARE). Christopher won a top prize as laureate at the prestigious 12th UNISA International Piano Competition (WFIMC) and won numerous other awards including the Gold medal in the Seattle International Piano Competition, second prize in the Isabel Scionti International Music Competition, first prize in the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition and awards in other national and international competitions around the world. He is also the recipient of the Presser Award for an upcoming international relations project titled "Resonance of Hope"..He has been featured in over a dozen magazines in Thailand (Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, L’officiel, L’optimum Thai editions, among others), appeared in many TV programs, and been featured in numerous newspapers around the globe. He has also been featured on multiple TV and Radio programs around the globe including being a resident artist for “Performance Today” on American Public Media.   Born in Christchurch, England, Christopher began his piano studies at age six with his father. He moved to Thailand at age seven, residing with his father, British, and mother, a Thai citizen of Chinese heritage. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-Kansas City as a Bachelor of Music studying under Doctor Robert Weirich, a Master’s Degree from Rice University and is currently a Doctoral of Musical Arts Candidate under Professor Jon Kimura Parker.
