As the rate of respiratory illness among Children in China soars, a protest movement spurred by the lockdowns and intensified repression by the Chinese Communist Party during the COVID-19 pandemic marks one year since its inception. The 'White Paper' movement saw protesters in China and abroad holding up white pieces of paper in dissent against the party's censorship. It has since broadened to include dissent against the party itself. NTD had the privilege to speak with Zhou Feng-Suo, a human rights activist and a student leader during the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989. He spoke at the White Paper movement's anniversary event outside the Capitol and joined us from his office at the Tiananmen Museum.
