How to Wear Hanfu | Origin of Mandarin Collar Shuling (豎領/立領)

Five Thousand Years
What is the true origin of the mandarin collar? Most people think the standing collar is derived from Qing Dynasty Manchurian dress, also known as the cheongsam or qipao. It is actually originally invented and passed down from the Ming Dynasty, the dynasty before the Qing Dynasty. It is a part of the hanfu system and was later on adapted into Manchurian dresses. This video will show you the history behind the Chinese standing collar or Mandarin Collar Shuling (豎領/立領) as well as a step-by-step tutorial on how to wear it. Hanfu, meaning Han Chinese Clothing, or as I'd like to call it Han Couture, is what ancient Chinese people wore for thousands of years. Traditional Chinese Clothes changed from dynasty to dynasty and there exists hundreds of variations. ------------------------------------------ Facebook: Five Thousand Years Instagram: Five_Thousand_Years 中文Youtube頻道:https://goo.gl/MPJijL ------------------------------------------ Cinematographer: Jimmy Xie https://www.jimmycxie.com Music: Tony Chen http://tonychenmusic.com
