House Funding Bill Fails, Shutdown Approaches

Republicans failed to pass their short-term funding bill to keep the government open with a shutdown one day away. Both parties are far apart on a spending solution that can pass the divided Congress as calls for ousting Speaker Kevin McCarthy appear to die down.
