Shen Yun Purchase day 1

Shen Yun is in the midst of its 2019 tour. Audience members were greatly impressed by the artistry of the performers at its recent stop in Purchase, New York. "I think it's amazing. All I've heard about it, it exceeds expectations. The color, the grandeur, the sets, the choreography and everything," said George Whipple, director of Aon Benfield. "My wife goes to a lot of Broadway plays and I join her sometimes and we always see splendid productions, but this has everything, absolutely everything. The acrobatics, the tumbling, it's amazing. It has everything you could think of in one production, and we've only seen one hour." "They inspired me, because they’re dancing with their whole heart and their whole body. It was really powerful," said Irene Gutmann, owner of Eagle Life and Purpose Coaching. "The message was wonderful," she added. "[It's] about goodness and being brave. Looking for goodness and following the divine, and not getting discouraged by the evil and the oppression in the world. I thought it was really beautiful." Audience members felt disappointed to hear that Shen Yun is not allowed to perform in China. "It’s a shame, China is such a big country, but I guess it’s their loss," said Whipple. "Well, I understand what the communist Chinese have done ever since 1949, and it’s been terrible. So this is wonderful to see, that they can more than resurrect but bring back the ancient cultures and show us. Especially to us Americans who were not familiar with it." "Little sad to see the Chinese culture that is not prevalent in China today," said Bob Dimartino, owner of Outdoor Lighting Perspectives. "It’s so beautiful, it has such a spiritual aspect to it. [A] lot of this has been stamped out. It’s sad that you can’t perform this in China. But I really do enjoy it." NTD News, Purchase, New York
