An American self-styled adventurer and Christian missionary has been killed and buried by a tribe of hunter-gatherers on a remote island in the Indian Ocean where he had gone to proselytize, local law enforcement officials said on Thursday. Mia Womersley reports. This American missionary has been killed and buried by a tribe of hunter-gatherers on a remote Indian island. Twenty six-year old John Allen Chau was a self-styled adventurer and Christian. Police say he had gone to the North Sentinel Island of the Andaman Islands in the Indian ocean to proselytize. It's home to the last pre-Neolithic tribe in the world. Visitors aren't allowed in. The fishermen who took Chau there illegally have been arrested.
