UK--Ofsted inspectors to move away from exams results focus

Ofsted has said it will move away from exams as the main indicator of success. Chief inspector Amanda Spielman said it reduces teachers to mere “data managers.” She said that the focus on performance had narrowed what schools are teaching. It had lead to schools being “exams factories” and placed undue stress on students. The proposals are set to start in September 2019.
