White House Addresses Staff Turnover

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said the White House is an intense place to work and “it’s not abnormal that you’d have people come and go,” at the press briefing on March 7. Questions from reporters referred to the upcoming exit of Gary Cohn, the president’s chief economic advisor, as well as several other resignations of late. Communications Director Hope Hicks announced her resignation last week. Sanders said if things were chaotic in the White House, “then I don’t think we’d be able to accomplish everything we have done.” The president tweeted a similar sentiment on March 6, “The new Fake News narrative is that there is CHAOS in the White House. Wrong! People will always come & go, and I want strong dialogue before making a final decision. I still have some people that I want to change (always seeking perfection). There is no Chaos, only great Energy!” Credit: Reuters
