A 13-year-old boy died during a middle school football
practice session in Fort Worth, Texas, on Aug. 22.
Kyrell McBride-Johnson had a medical emergency
that led coaches to perform CPR on him.
He was unresponsive.
Kyrell was in critical condition when the
paramedics took him to the hospital.
The 13-year-old was then transferred to another
hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The cause of death is currently unknown.
Kyrell had passed his physical exams without any
signs of risk and had no known heart conditions.
His mother mentioned that he had asthma
that hadn't flared up in years.
