Chinese School Roof Collapses, Killing at Least 11

A tragic incident in north-east China. Eleven are dead after the roof of a school gym collapsed. Many of them teenage students. Outside the emergency room, the father of one of the victims said he wasn't allowed to identify his child. NTD spoke to a resident who lives one block from the scene. To protect her safety, we gave her a pseudonym, Li Ping. Li said her son saw the bodies from afar. Chinese media reports say the roof collapsed because builders loaded construction materials on top of it --  in violation of safety regulations. The materials then absorbed water from recent rain storms, and cracked the roof. Authorities arrested the head of the construction company.
