Celine Chen, A Promising Young Golfer

Perth Epoch News
Fifteen year old Celine Chen is a rising star in the world of golf. She has won many awards in recent years and dreams of becoming a pro golfer. Celine: “I’ve won an event in Brisbane and it was the Brisbane junior amateur championship. That was pretty good because it was my first interstate win.” She thoroughly enjoyed playing golf from the moment she started at the age of 9. Celine: “I’ve really loved the game, it's always really good fun playing.” Celine was the youngest person to win the Royal Fremantle Ladies Club championship in 2019 when she was just 13 years old. She won it again this year. Her proudest achievement so far was the 2019 Award for Golf WA. Celine: “I think it’s quite important because playing golf, you need to have the skill and talent and work very hard to achieve those goals.” As a high school student, Celine tries hard to find a sensible balance between golf and school work. Celine: “Currently I’m in year 10. I’m planning to go to college in the states in America but I know that it’s going to be hard to make it there so I’m just going to kind of balance on golf and studying.” Celine loves golf so much that she wants to be a professional golfer in the future. Celine: “I really want to be a professional golfer but I know it takes a lot of time and effort and money. My mum and dad help me with that a lot and it’s really good to have their support.” Celine is hardworking, talented, and dedicated enough to achieve her goal. Celine: “Hopefully by the end of this year I could get a sponsor which will be great and it’s also very helpful.” She is now hoping to get some sponsorships to help her to fulfil her dreams. We wish her good luck and success in her golfing future.
