NYPD Releases Video of Fatal Crown Heights Shooting

The NYPD released video showing the shooting  of 34-year-old Saheed Vassell. The incident took place in Crown Heights,  Brooklyn on April 4. Police received calls before the shooting about a man threatening people with a gun.  The police discovered that Vassell had a bent metal pipe.   Vassell’s family says he suffered from schizophrenia. The latest release of footage was from a building  about a half a block from the incident. The officers who shot him were not wearing body cameras.  The NYPD has not given the officers names, which some in the community have requested.
