AG Barr Cameos on Bagpipes, Surprises US Attorneys
Attorney General William Barr suprised a group of federal prosecutors Wednesday morning by pulling out bagpipes and playing before the crowd assembled at the Justice Department.
Barr was slated to give opening remarks at the U.S. Attorneys' National Conference at the Justice Department.
As the conference got underway, the NYPD Emerald Society Pipes and Drums Band entered the room playing. Barr then ducked behind a curtain, retrieved his bagpipes and accompanied them.
He told the attorneys that his staff "thought they were going to surprise me by having the Emerald Society Pipe Band come down from New York. But as you know I'm very proficient at, dare I say the word -- spying. And I discovered the plot. And so this was my counter surprise."
