They Kept On Marching - A Song Dedicated to our Liberators - 30th Infantry Division - Old Hickory

History Secrets
History Secrets
Hello my friends! I know this is very different from what I normally upload.. but i thought it was time to share it with you. We made this song for the heroes who liberated the town of Valkenburg aan de Geul ( Netherlands ) in September 1944. On the 14th of September 1944, the 30th Infantry Division arrived in Valkenburg. The small town was well defended by the Germans, and was front line for 4 days. A lot of brave young men and innocent civilians got wounded or killed in the battle. Back when i was 16 years old, there was a reunion with Veterans of the Old Hickory Division. They were playing a song called Waltzing Matilda, and one of the veterans was dancing on it.. then we knew we had to make our own version of the song, but this time with our own lyrics.. to honor them. The footage used in this clip, is original Footage of the Liberation of Valkenburg. The song was made and recorded in our own private studio!
