Townsville Family Sing and Dance in Flooded Street

A family in Townsville, Queensland, kept in high spirits despite their street flooding on Saturday, February 2, as the region continued to grapple with monsoonal weather. Local woman Rozina Kisha Seru filmed this video of her son dancing in their flooded street in Mount Low, as family claps along. “It flooded a little in our street for the first time that morning since it had been raining in Townsville. Our family couldn’t help but enjoy it a little,” she told Storyful. “My husband is on the right, with his sister directly behind my son and my husbands parents all cheering for him as he dances”. A number of flood warnings remained in place for the Townsville region on February 5, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. “Very heavy rainfall was recorded north of Townsville overnight. Another major #flood peak in Bluewater Creek,” the Bureau said in a tweet. Credit: Rozina Kisha Seru via Storyful
