Burma military has close ties with CCP; Lincoln Project founder John Weaver scandal exposed

While the responses from around the world, including the United Nations, are unanimously condemning the military takeover in Burma, CCP’s stance remains not clear. The Chinese communist regime said they hoped all parties would "properly handle their differences” in accordance with the law and "maintain political and social stability". Shortly before the military coup, both Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and the head of the Chinese Communist Party, Xi Jinping went to Burma and met with Aung San Suu Kyi and Min Aung Hlaing respectively. Now what’s the real implications of the coup? On February 1, the new Secretary of State Anthony Blinken gave a more detailed policy stance on the CCP in an interview. Blinken said that the relationship with the CCP is one of confrontation, competition, and some cooperation. On issues such as Hong Kong and Xinjiang, Blinken said that both the U.S. response that it’s within their "control”. It would be interesting to see how exactly Blinken is going to "control" specific issues as they arise. New York Times revealed that John Weaver, a key member of Lincoln Project, an active anti-Trump organization formed by GOP members, has been engaging in child sexual abuses.
