Biden: US-Japan Alliance 'Purely About Defense'

President Biden said the U.S. alliance with Japan is "purely about defense" and "not aimed at any one nation" while at a dual press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at the White House. Biden told attending reporters the two men discussed "defense and readiness" as well as some economic issues while not focusing on any other particular nation, also noting to reporters he would also like to continue a line of communication with President Xi Jinping of China after their recent phone conversation.
