Ben & Jerry’s Says U.s. On Stolen Land

NTD News

Ice cream maker Ben & Jerry’s is facing calls for a Bud Light-style boycott. NTD’s Daniel Monaghan has more on the significant social media backlash to the company’s July 4th comments that the U.S exists “on stolen land,” that should be returned. The company wrote that the land on which Mount Rushmore sits was seen as sacred to the Native American tribes. Adding that the government broke its treaties with the Lakota and other tribes in the mid-19th century. The series of posts drew an immediate and sharp backlash from users. Country singer-songwriter John Rich wrote in response that Ben and Jerrys should give all their stores to the Native American tribes that originally owned those zip codes.
