Democratic Mayor Endorses President Trump

N
NTD Videos
Carbondale, Pennsylvania has been a Democratic stronghold for decades, owing to the working class families in the mining, manufacturing and railroad industries. The city’s mayor, Justin Taylor, has been a Democrat his whole life. Growing up his family owned a home heating oil business. His grandfather wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and told the young Taylor he’ll grow up to be a Democrat just like him. But Taylor says the Democratic Party has changed, and it’s now moving towards socialism. So now he’s endorsing Trump in part because he spurred economic growth. Trump’s administration slashed corporate tax rates. During the middle of the Obama years, the US had the highest corporate tax rate among G20 nations at about 39%. Now it’s nearly half that at about 21%. Taylor says this allows businesses to reinvest in themselves and hire more workers—an advantage that stems from having a businessman as president.
