U.S. Re-Designates Houthis as Global Terrorist Organization

After several attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea, the U.S. State Department has re-designated the Houthis as a global terrorist organization on Wednesday. That's according to State Department Spokesman Mathew Miller, who made the announcement at a press briefing in Washington. The Trump administration had designated the Houthis as a terror group before during the latter portion of the former President's term; the Biden Administration swiftly removed that tag from the Yemen-based group shortly after the 46th president took office.
