President Donald Trump told Congress six month ago that it had until March 5 to find a permanent solution to the temporary deportation protection that former President Barack Obama gave eligible illegal immigrants in 2012. On March 5, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders answered questions about the next steps for the recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). “I think it’s absolutely terrible that Congress has failed to act. The president gave Congress six months and he also gave them a plan. … Legislation and principles that the majority of members of congress have supported in the past,” she said. “They claim to want to fix DACA.”
