In light of recent incidents in the United States involving hatred against Jews, NTD discussed the root of antisemitism on college campuses with Cherise Trump, the executive director of Speech First. When asked if some students who think they are protesting against Israeli policies are actually engaging in antisemitism, she said some students may be confused about their own overly rigid viewpoints. Ms. Trump said that students often fall into the “oppressor versus oppressed” ideological thought trap, and thus end up “supporting terrorist activity against Israeli innocents.”
