On Saturday night, former President Donald Trump released a statement and list looking for "good and wise, America First Republican patriots" to challenge those Republican lawmakers that had voted for the infrastructure bill as well as Trump’s January impeachment. In return, they would receive his endorsement. Senator Bernie Sanders, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist, tweeted on 18 March that "We are in a moment in American history where two guys — Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos — own more wealth than the bottom 40% of people in this country.
