Shen Yun ‘A Must See,’ Says University Executive Advisor

Chen Tim
New York-based Shen Yun performed in San Jose, California, with its production of classical Chinese dance accompanied by a live orchestra. “This is a must-see. World class, I would say. Even overpassing," said Vlad E. Genin, executive advisor to the president at the National Technical University of Ukraine "Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute." "I was very impressed this is about new China. This is about its 5,000-year history. I’m very amazed," said Genin. "This is very important for people in this country to see because people should know the true value of Chinese spirit and Chinese culture." "Love the performances, absolutely awesome," said Craig Burr, branch sales manager of Sentry Alarm Systems. "The dancing is tremendous, the music is great." "And I can’t begin to express how much I love culture, Chinese culture especially. It brings to life all of the history that China has brought to the world. And so I really enjoy that tremendously," Burr added. According to its website, classical Chinese dance dates back millennia and was continually enriched dynasty after dynasty. "It’s a fascinating amount of athleticism mixed with grace. It’s an extraordinary performance," said Andréa Skov, interim CMO & strategic growth marketing consultant at Guild Associates Inc. "The grace and the movement of the girls with their sleeves and their scarves and their skirts is just amazing. With the colors swirling, it’s lovely, it’s just lovely." Skov danced classical ballet for 20 years and said the dancing in Shen Yun was "extraordinarily athletic." NTD News, San Jose, California
