Music-loving Doctors Have Created the World's First Ever Headphones That Create “Perfect" Sound

2018-04-18 14:56
Doctors from Audeara have designed headphones that reduce hearing loss by tailoring its sound to the user’s ability to hear. Doctors Chris Jeffrey and James Fielding invented the device after getting fed up with their patients waiting for hearing tests. The headphones enable users to monitor their hearing loss over time and upload their hearing profile onto devices via Bluetooth. It also protects a user's hearing by reducing noise distortion and the need for them to turn the volume up. Dr Fielding said, “the response from people who use the headphones for the first time is amazing. They’re usually overwhelmed at the difference in what they hear – and they wonder why they’ve been using off-the-shelf headphones for so long.” The earphones were launched this month after a successful crowdfunding campaign that brought in a staggering £320,000 ($450,000 USD approx) in just 15 hours on Kickstarter.com. A spokesman from Audeara said, “The headphones are designed by doctors and engineers to deliver perfect sound, always." Credit: SWNS
