Rain Violently Pelts Security Camera in Evacuated Topsail Beach House

2018-09-14 12:00
An evacuated resident from Topsail Beach, North Carolina, shared CCTV footage late on September 13 as Hurricane Florence blew in full force against their property. The source told Storyful they were watching the security footage of their house remotely from California, where they were waiting out the storm. They said the winds were so powerful they had pushed the camera out of place. The National Weather Service said at midnight parts of North Carolina were experiencing “life-threatening storm surges” and gusts of up to 87 mph. More than 1.7 million people in Virginia, North and South Carolina were told to evacuate their homes.
