New York Audiences Enjoy Enriching Experience of Shen Yun update 2

Mark Liu
At Lincoln Center in New York on March 9, Shen Yun Performing Arts continued to impress audience members with its colorful expression of traditional Chinese culture through Classical Chinese Dance. "There’s a spirituality about the show," said Sean Obrien, an architect. "There’s a peaceful harmony that’s expressed through the beauty of the dance, the beauty of the sets. It’s just a magical, colorful experience of harmony and peace." The choreography and skill level of the dancers mesmerized the audience. "The dancers are so gifted, they’re so beautiful, athletic," said Obrien. "The synchronization, the timing, everything is just perfect. It’s [an] absolutely beautiful show." The performance was both enriching and entertaining for those in attendance. "On many levels, it’s an artistic expression that we can all share the joy of," said Obrien. "But I also believe there’s a spiritual component that we can all take away as well, ultimately to enrich our lives and to hopefully be better people as a result of it." "No matter what religion you may be," said Obrien. "I believe you can come here and understand of the greater good and the greater peace that exists in the world, and in the heaven beyond." "It’s awesome, it’s so fluid," said Hari K. Samaroo, an attorney. "I’m a kung-fu fan, I’m a Bruce Lee fan so [it] brings back memories from the way Bruce Lee used to move. It’s really mesmerizing." The colorful storytelling conveys a rich culture and history through music and dance. "I like what they do in the background," said Samaroo. "Like how they fade into the animated stuff." "Like a Chinese rainbow," said Amaliya Mordvinova, an actress. "Great colorful story, fairytale." NTD News, New York
