Tom Ozimek
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service worked through the night of March 8 to control a thatch fire near Exeter. Firefighters were called in Sowton, Exeter, where the roof of a private house took fire around 6 pm on March 8. “Crews still damping down hot spots making steady progress. Building stability being monitored,” said the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service at 3 a.m. local time. Smoke was seen billowing out of the windows and the roof of the cottage. According to an ITV report, the fire involved two semi detached properties and than 60 firefighters took part in tackling the massive blaze. Crews were still on the scene in the morning of March 9, according to Devon Live. Credit: Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service via Storyful
