Ontario Jewelry Store Workers Use Swords to Fight Off Intruders
Employees at an Ontario jewelry store used swords to fight off four people attempting to rob the premises on November 21, Peel Regional Police said.
Police released footage as part of a public appeal for information about the incident at Ashok Jewellers, in Mississauga. A suspect is seen breaking the window and climbing through, before a worker forces him back by waving a sword.
Another suspect points what appears to be a firearm at the employees and tries to enter the store through the window before being forced back. The suspects flee to a dark-coloured Dodge Durango and leave the scene.
Arjun Kumar, the son of the store’s owner, told CBC that the swords were gifts from a friend of the family. “It was good luck for us,” he said.
