The "Moomin Snowcastle," a 10,000-square-meter park featuring 5-meter tall ice sculptures of characters from the Moomin stories, has been created in the Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, Finland. Visitors can gaze upon towering sculptures of characters , get lost in a snow maze, slide down a 50-meter long snow slide or have a drink in the ice bar. The Moomins were created in 1945 by the Finnish illustrator Tove Jansson, and in her books she describes the Moomin family's adventures with their many charming, eccentric, and funny-shaped friends.
