Met Office Issues Most Severe Fire Warning; Crunch Time: Energy Bosses Meet PM, Ministers

The Met Office has issued its highest alert for fire severity over the weekend as a second heat wave of the summer starts. Energy bosses were summoned to Downing Street as Boris Johnson asked them to act “in the national interest” to help ease pressure on vulnerable consumers. A 39-year-old man has been arrested after a series of shootings on the Isle of Skye and the nearby mainland left a 47-year-old man dead and three others injured.
