President Still Hoping for DACA Resolution Says Press Secretary

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said President Donald Trump is still hoping Congress will find a permanent legislative solution to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and border security. Sanders said during the White House press briefing that Trump’s March 5 deadline still stands after he ended DACA on Sept. 5 last year. “It’s really sad that Democrats are not willing to come to the table, get something done, and actually fix problems and do their job,” Sanders said. Court rulings have allowed for DACA to continue beyond March 5 without interruption and the Supreme Court on Feb. 26 declined to hear the case, at least until after ongoing cases in lower courts were finalized.
