Firefighters Help Reunite Family of Ducks After Nine Ducklings Fall Down a Drain

2018-05-23 15:43
Firefighters helped reunite a mother duck and her ducklings after they fell down a drain. Cheshire Fire and Rescue were called to help the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) to rescue nine ducklings that had become trapped down a drain in Nantwich, England, on May 22. Firefighters used duckling noises to coax the mother duck in the direction of Nantwich Lake, which was hundreds of yards away. “Quacking good work by firefighters and @RSPCA_official officers as the ducklings are reunited with mother duck. They were gently lowered into the water, on a quiet part of the lake, and they happily swam away together,” reads the caption on a clip showing firefighters gingerly placing the ducklings in the water, posted on the Cheshire Fire Twitter page. Clips of the rescue and reunion shared to Twitter had earned over 7,000 views at the time of writing. Credit: Chesire Fire via Storyful
