Chicago's O'Hare Airport has a special team trained to sniff out contraband that could damage U.S. agriculture.
The beagle, a furry and cuddly breed, has a strong sense of smell and is not intimidating. Since 1984, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has placed a brigade of beagles at ports of entry to intercept and prevent foreign invasive species, pests, and animal diseases from entering the United States.
