Satellite Imagery Shows Moment of Fuego Volcano Eruption

This time-lapse satellite imagery released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) shows Guatemala’s Fuego volcano erupting on June 3. According to Guatemala CONRED (National Coordination for Disaster Reduction) website, the eruption had resulted in 66 fatalities by 6:30 a.m. on June 5. More than 1.7 million Guatemalans have been affected by the eruption, and more than 3,200 had to be evacuated.
