Traditional beach horse racing takes place along Piletas Beach in Spain
One of the most iconic of horses races took place on Thursday (9 AUG. 2018) in the beautiful setting of a Sanlucar de Barrameda beach, in southern Spain's Cadiz Province.
The beach lays in the estuary of the Guadalquivir river, near the Donana national park.
Horses have been racing along the beach at Sanlucar de Barrameda every year since 1845.
Thousands of tourists enjoying the summer sun flock to watch the races that are held at low tide in the afternoon.
