Dook In Peace Newt: Reflections on a Ferret's Life

The Modern Ferret
After almost a month gone…I haven’t been feeling great and making this video (my writing, Channing’s beautiful video editing) is the way I have been able to process Newt’s death and everything that is going on in the world. The subject matter probably implies it but just so you know…this video is a heavy one. You will see disturbing imagery like a ferret scream mid-seizure, so make sure you are in the right space for it. I did this not for shock value, but to bring you along on this journey of grief and to put you in a place where you are able to seriously contemplate the questions I pose towards the end of the video. I hope you find a quiet time in your week to watch it, and I hope it makes you feel something. Because we are all supposed to feel something when we lose a life, no matter how small. Thank you to the several people who sent us kind words, flowers and food last week. I am in awe of how kind the world can be. It’s moments like that that define our character! Take your time watching the video. I’ll continue to move a little slow these next weeks. And then we will pick back up with everything very soon.
